though this massive library does deliver in excess of 12,000 sounds. It's hard to believe that the third party guys will ever port their patches over to the new regime, so we're all now stuck with a mess forevermore. Spectrasonics Omnisphere 2 is a big release in every sense of the word. One of the single best things about Omnisphere has always been how quick and easy it is to find stuff, and that's taken an unfortunately large dent. They should have just added a few obviously missing attributes and stuff like "mood". I know Matt foolishly said he'd do exactly that to The Unfinished stuff, but if you're reading this Matt I won't hold you to it, given how messy Spectrasonics' own tagging is.ĮDIT - in fact I'll come out and say it, I think deciding to retag the whole library was a mistake - the only mistake in Omni 2, everything else is stellar. I'm not really sure what to do re third party stuff - it's such a daunting proposition to retag them all.

Honestly I preferred the tags in 1 to the current system, but I'm hopeful Spectrasonics will fix some of the most glaring tag problems. Try refreshing index in browser. For example, there are only 15 patches tagged lead synths in the new EDM library - in reality there are way over 100 but they won't show up in a search - indeed I think all the best new lead patches are invisible. I bought Omnisphere and i have installed it but every time i click on a sound it says 'cannot load soundsource '(name)' in directory 'core library'.

Place the two windows next to each other so you can see both windows - your. From your desktop, double-click your downloaded folder to open it into a second window. Here you will find a 'Patches' and a 'Multis' folder. In fact, the tagging generally in Omni 2 is still pretty scrappy, there's howling errors, omissions and inconsistencies spread among too many attributes - it feels very rushed out the door. Now locate your 'Spectrasonics' folder and go to 'STEAM', 'Omnisphere', 'Settings Library'. As an example, ARP + Rhythm has been renamed as ARP + BPM, so you now get two categories appearing when you select all libraries, which is confusing and messy. All the factory patches are ported to the new regime, but none of the third party ones have to my knowledge.

The much bigger problem with Omni 2 is that all the folders have been rejigged and renamed. I think the max 20 restriction is lifted in Omni 2, but haven't verified this. You lose the artwork specific to each library, but otherwise it's all good. Actually you can combine them, and indeed I have done so - you just copy all of the ARP + Rhythm contents into a single ARP + Rhythm folder, and so on.
